Lens offer from Amazon: DA* 50-135 SDM & DA* 16-50 SDM

Amazon.com: Pentax SMC DA* Series 16-50mm f/2.8 ED AL IF SDM Wide Angle Zoom Lens for Pentax Digital SLR Cameras: Camera & Photo

(Scrolling down a little, there is an offer with the DA* 50-135 SDM & DA* 16-50 SDM at $1,403.73.)

So what do you think? Taking into consideration the VAT and other tarifs it would still be around 300-400 euros cheaper than in Finland... And since I've wanted both this would be a good time.

I have the Tamron 28-75mm which would be obsolete if I get these two; selling it will be an option, though...

What do you guys think of the two lenses? Does the SDM give an "edge" over non-SDM in the AF? And about the built; they are DA* lenses so they should be good enough, right? The 50-135 had a review at the Photozone.de and it was quite good, so at least according to them it would be decent enough. But what about the 16-50..?

I have both. I love both. They are both SDM (silent and smooth) and weatherproofed. The 16-50 has CA and distortion, but DxO will make it perfect for another $100. Check my Flickr site to see what DxO did with one of my 16-50 shots. It's miraculous! I paid a LOT more than US$1,400 for them.

I think i once tried to buy photo gear from amazon.com and couldn't go through with the order because they refused to ship to Europe

I don't know if things are different now, or if they are selective with the countries to where they ship.

That's a great price btw.

It looks like you are right. Amazon does not ship to Europe (at least not anything new). Not even Amazon.co.uk...

However I found the same lenses for about $1500 at B&H. And they do ship to Finland (at least seems like they do). Any experience on B&H..?
