Yes, and some people even like the K 50mm f1.2 a little better

Either way, I hope its a slight improvement, but I can't see selling one for the other. I'd say the availability of silver is the most important part of this announcement (which pretty much says it all) - so it is like the A 50mm f1.2!

The rounded aperture blades and new coating (in that order) should be welcome improvements, but it's still the same lens. If you're going to make a change, it would be much better to trade in your DA40 for an FA43, or your DA70 for an FA77. I hope the new coating proves helpful to Adam, but I'm certainly not planning on trading out my DA15 (the only DA Ltd I have).

Replace my green band DA40 with a red band DA40? I haven't even replaced my K50/1.4 with an M50/1.4 yet (though I did once buy an MESuper boxed body/lens/flash kit that came with the M50/1.4), so no

I've always harbored a fantasy of selling everything and making my entire kit the most current body and the three FA Limiteds. This will be the fourth time I've kicked myself and said to myself, "If I thought they were too expensive before then what are they now?"

At least I like my K's. The color never changes on a K lens.

One at a time, that's the way to go (except I happened to find someone selling 2 at once and got a bargain on the pair).

Don't want to mess with your fantasy,
but if the most current body is APS-C,
that won't get you wide-angle.

Oh, you mean like working hard and saving and self-denial and choosing and all that Protestant Work Ethic stuff my parents and ministers and teachers and coaches and camp counselors tried to mold into me?

Then how do I explain LBA?

Actually that's really good advice. All these years. Where have I been? And an MZ-S.

Just bought a new DA70 limited for $498 (including all taxes) in Australia. The FA77 was another $400, so the decision was easy. HD would not justify spending more than another $50 for me.

What I need are XS versions with the same glass and aperture in a simplified body for half the price. I have my 40mm XS (with rounded aperture blades), where are my 15mm XS and 70mm XS?

I might finally get the DA 15mm because of this. The nano coating will probably make a noticeable difference when shooting in sunny conditions (i.e. pretty much every day here in AZ), though I hope the bokeh from the new version is just as good. We'll see, as I've already requested the lens for review.
I'm looking forward to your review. I don't own any limiteds but I've been staring at the DA 15mm for the past couple of weeks. The HD announcement has slowed me down, but I'm also expecting the new version to have a higher price than the old one with our goofy Canadian prices.

It looks like the new DA 15mm will upgrade to 9 blades, that might be worth upgrading too... Hmmm....

Nope. It's still seven blades according to the official website. Probably a good thing too, don't fix what ain't broken!

I see no way I'm gonna replace my DA 15 or 35, but the new series might get me to finally buy the 21 I've been thinking about for several years now.

Depending on what the first tests and real world experience shows, I might not even buy the HD 21 but try to get the smc lens at a discount.Yeah I know, with customers like me, Pentax is seriously doomed, but like most people here, I don't have unlimited funds ;-).
