I have the 75-300 version. Little older, and macro only 1:4, but for the 130 I paid, Ii found it to be quite a little performer when asked of it.

You will enjoy the lens i am sure. Here are some pics i took with it on my k100d so you can see how SR works well with it. Both are hand held. Have fun with yours!

I'm certainly not an expert by any means, but I find PF easily removed or reduced in Lightroom. PF is not just lens related, it is a combination of the sensor (reflection) and lens (aberration).

I am surprized you wouldn't try the Pentax 50-200mm. Not long enough for you or does it not have good reviews? I was considering that lens.
The 50-200 is a very good lens for the money. Lots of happy owners out there and very few complaints. I had one for a few months bt sold mine when a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 became available. The Pentax is light and has good IQ. Decently sharp with the Pentax quick shift (nice feature) but it has no Macro ability.

The lens in this thread can be had around the same price range (or fairly close) and is a similar speed. So many have gone this route because it's only 20mm longer in the short end and 100mm longer at the long end (a big difference). Plus the 1:2 macro is a great feature (not available with the Pentax). So it's a very good all round lens.

I really like the contrast in your Post Prod sample.
