smc-m 50mm f 2 not working on k5

..but it works well on k01. I dont know what is the wrong here is it the k5 which does not has focuspeaking or the lens.
BTW I intend to buy smc-k 50 f1.2 and II'm afraid that behave the same behavior .thanks on advance for any help.

k5 does not have focus peaking

It does have Catch-in-Focus which can make using manual lenses easier.

Though you may want to investigate a split-screen if you do a lot of manual work.

Maybe you could describe what is not working in more detail? "Not working" is not very specific. Are you having trouble with focusing? Or exposure? Or?

My best guess is that you have either A) Not set "Aperture Ring Permtted" in the Custom Menu setting or B) the auto focus switch (AF) on the camera body is in the AF.S position in which case the shutter will only operate if the image is in proper focus.

Try setting the AF-switch in manual (M) position first.

Thanks to all responses.
I cant hold on the shutter release and there is an RED /F--/.This issue is seen only with k5.but the lens is working fin with k01.

the AF IN M and I switched the lens to A.although it is not working!
Is the smc K 50mm f1.2 has the same behavior. I realy like this lens and want to buy it but I have some fearness from /F--/ especialy the lens is not cheap.
