CRIS can do just about all the brands and if they're the best, you might be doing yourself a disservice. I sent a lens that would only focus to infinity but not back. I had the problem for six months and couldn't be bothered to deal with it. When I did, it cost $97 plus shipping and about 1.5 weeks and came back super clean.

I plan to get two K-3's and will send them with lenses to be calibrated with full confidence the job will be done right.

My only experience with them is trying to complete their online form (error message, directed to report it) and sending an email about the error and asking for instructions on Sunday night - yet to be returned as of Friday afternoon, and a phone message last night, no response. I have 3 items to send in...one warranty, two not.

You can send a regular email stating problem and serial numbers and give the the payment info over the phone.

What if you have 16 lenses? I don't understand sending one lens to calibrate with the camera?

No way would I do that. You gotta be outta your mind to send a dozen lenses worth thousands of dollars plus shipping both ways. Not me no sir

Unless you have vintage lenses, you could insure the package.
Worst case, you get to replace your SMCs with HDs!

Got my DA 21 back from CRIS today. $123.00 Repaired focus mechanism, Adjusted to manufacturers specs. I did some preliminary testing with a focus chart inside. Wow what a difference! Focus is spot on. Lens looks like new. In and out in 2 weeks. Highly recommend.

Hello everyone!

I sent an email to CRIS to see if they can do preemptive maintenance to my SMC A 35-105 f3.5 but they cannot of course because of the lens' age.

it would be great if I could find a disassembly video or pictures to know how not to screw up this awesome lens... it is working fine, I just need to clean it up in the inside....

I think Eric would be able to help you. An upstanding repair guy who works on a lot of older Pentax gear.

Yes, Eric can definitely take care of that. And probably for less than what CRIS would charge (if they would do it).
