55 SDM - focus precision

I have calibrated the fine focus adjustment a year ago to a correction of +5. Today the lens needs +10. All my other lenses I checked (4 others) did not change over one year and I cannot say that I abused the 55 SDM in any way. Did anyone else observe similar changes in their lenses. Could this be specific to SDM lenses (200/300 are still fine) or to the 55mm lens?
Time to send the camera for recalibration of the focus as most of my lenses require +8 to +10 adjustment not leaving any leverage ...

Can anyone point me again to the link looking at the software tool for re-setting the in-camera focus adjustment. This would be a way to move my adjustments from +10 back to a nw 0 setting.

Positive surprise: my focusing screen is still in good adjustment (after serious shimmng a year ago).
Did I say that I hate these problems!!!

Mine needs a +10 on my K-5 from about 5 feet to infinity (or thereabouts) but none up close. I was thinking about sending them in for adjustment but because people have told me that their K-5II/s have required no AF Fine Adjust at all I'm not sure how to proceed. I'm thinking of selling my remaining Pentax gear as I also had a pretty comprehensive Nikon kit.

I would say that the focus precision* is only as good as the focus system that is being used and AF has notoriously poor precision for some subjects.

I am looking at a calibration target with perfect contrast... multiple tries, ... the hole nine yards.
A chage of 5 adjustment steps represents low precision. Accuracy compared to the real focus plane - I am giving up.

Same here.
Olympus OM-D may become the replacement. I still do not like the size of serious Canon/Nikon gear.

My Pentax camera focusin adjustment was off the screen in the beginning, never wory to blame Pentax for focus problems. +10 can be readjusted/rezeroed by a repair person. There used to be a link for DOY software to do it...but I stopped caring.
