Two questions:

1. Assuming you can only keep 1 of the lenses you currently have, what would it be?
2. Another situation, again assuming you can have only 1 lens, it can be any lens that fits your camera, and further assume that price is no consideration, what would that lens be?

Remember, big brother said you can only have 1 lens total.
Given the rules, my sigma 10-20 for any one lens of what I currently on.

If it is unlimited selection and no price object, a newly developed zoom from 10mm to 1000 mm at F1 and 10mm and F5.6 at 1000 mm weighing a mere 2 pounds.

Fantasy Lens (and body):
24-200/f2 that's under 500 grams, coupled with FF Pentax K-3 with SDM as fast as lightning

Nikon lens to keep:
AF-S 50/1.8
(or 1.4 once I can afford it)

Pentax Lens to keep:
My takumar setup. Love DA limited but they're easy to rebuy
(or DA 15 once I can afford it)

If someone makes me a sharp with no CA or distortion 10mm-1000mm zoom, tilt shift-macro- 1.2 weighing less than half a pound, for $400, I promise not to get bored with it.

1. DA 70 Ltd
2. DA 70 Ltd

But I'm a rebel, and I defy the authority of big brother. I'm keeping my 18-135 too.

I've always had a penchant for a LEICA NOCTILUX-M 50 mm f/0.95 ASPH.

+1, and make mine come in the size of DA40 pretty please?, MIJ, FF-compatible and I want that 1.2 constant in the entire zoom range! With at least 5 years warranty, aluminum aircraft-grade housing, with aperture ring, and a free UV filter I will also want it certified not to FF/BF, or develop any zoom creep!

I almost forgot, I want it HD* with the RED RING, and boldly branded PENTAX.

Then I take it you have a thing for lenses with $10,000 price tags? you will also want a Leica M digital* camera to go with that, just add another $7500 on top of that figure.

Also, I hate to puncture your dreams: but the Noctilux is far from being the best 50mm lens out there - certainly it is one of the fastest. The prize for the best 50mm I have used (this year) would go to the Leica APO Summicron-M 50mm f/2.

* or you could use it on a film Bessa, Hexar RF or a Zeiss IKON RF camera - if you think you can survive leicaphiles showering you with outrage.

Aye right enough, owned back in the day, a couple of M5's and a handful of lenses, which I loved for my street work, small lightweight etc etc.

But never bolted on the front them this fabled glass, or its equivalent version that was available back then.

OK, but it's SDM only!
