Do you have any experience in comparing the A 28 with the FA 28?
I do. The A's colours were flatter but apart from that they compared well. The DA21 has amazing colours in comparisons.

I can attest to that. In PP I always boost the contrast up to get those colors where they need to be. You're right though, it is a very "flat" lens but for $77 I'm not complaining.

Ok, could be that the difference is less in USAnia, but the examples I've seen from elsewhere have been quite a lot more. As usual, I suppose...

Good luck anyway!
He he....Just picked up a pristine DA 21 on ebay for $325. It seems I was right after all .

congrats on the amazing deal you scored! sometimes when these ebay auctions don't have a minimum reserve price, you can get great deals like this if you get lucky -- like if there happens to be little demand at that particular moment for the lens.

Well when you've got 24 of these beauties for sale on ebay and none of them are moving at $400 or more, sometimes the only way to sell them is no reserve and start at a dollar.

Some people would rather pay more to secure a lens from a North American dealer, rather than have it shipped in from Japan. Or, they want to pay more in order to get the original box, papers, leather bag. To each his own. Of course, I'm probably a little sour grapes because I paid well over $450 for mine on eBay last year. oh well, I still think it's worth that much to me... but who am I to begrudge you if you got a great deal and saved some cash? It's an excellent value buy for you.
