Faj 75-300 :-)

OK, tested the 3rd parties like Tamron/Sigma... but landed just here for my film body. Why? Hard to tell (price was not an option). Just printed out 8x10 results from 100-200-300 from both film and digital cameras with these and found something for ME (as You all know: visible SHARPNESS at PIXEL level does not make a photo). I must say that I like this "dark plastic" (and OTOH I have always found FAJ 18-35 superior to DA 18-55 due to its... how to say... nature maybe?). And yeah I know about the limitations (slow, needs decent light needed, needs to be stopped down a lot etc.) but there is something (although budget-like) Pentax-like in it. Will develop some more rolls and compare them to my digitals (BTW this one was NOT intended to be on my K20D... just wanted to see the difference) and see how it justifies its (non-existent) price...
Sorry for my little rant and happy shooting, JR

Sorry, but FAJ 28+ was the one I avoided... :-) But I am happy that I am not alone- 18-35 vs 18-55 reviews here and on the NET (despite my impression) and 75-300 are rather impressive if You think about something "lower" than fixed 2.8/4.0... Anyway I am happy in decent light- and no pun intended at all!
Best and happy film shooting, JR

I used to own the 75-300 - I thought it was much better than it was ever given credit for.

I have seen a lot of awful images from the 75-300 ... but I think i got a good copy myself.

Here's a recent equestrian event I went to and shot with the good old FA J 75-300mm clunker.
