Soligor 250 4.5 - Some test photos of a forgotten prime.

Got in in an old camera package, not even mentioned in the auction..
For me Soligor, and I guess for many Soligor it not what you search for but since it was in such good shape i had to test it out..

What do you think? I have seen it for just 20 bucks often...
Soligor 250 f 4.5. (this is the Komine version, serial starts with a H)

Have this lens and it makes very nice photos on my K-5. It's surprisingly sharp even wide open.

I got it from my uncle along with a Spotmatic, 50/1.4 Super-Tak and a Vivitar 35/3.5. I assumed it was "meh" before shooting with it, but it is actually very good. The bokeh is quite nice.

I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a long-ish tele prime. On APS-C, it's equivalent to 375mm, so it's actually quite close to being a 400/4 equivalent lens, being only a half stop slower and a tiny bit shorter. With the high ISO performance of K-5, I don't miss that half stop at all.

Looks plenty sharp if a little lacking in contrast, though that's easily fixed in PP.

Noticed 15 aperture blades in the piece, and very smooth focusing.

Looks like a nice lens and these shots if not PP was applied looks excellent - and with 15 blades you can stop down however you like still having smooth bokeh and nice round highlights in OOF areas.
A keeper !

Manntax. A little tweekening of the levers but no sharpening. But for the money 20 bucks its nice. Have to test it with a telecon X2 too

For the money this IQ with 15 aperture blades sounds like a steal.. With teleconverter it will probably be usable stopped 1 stop of more down - that is my general experience with this cheaper lenses.. nonetheless still useful piece of kit for those bright sunny days and for little money Besides if it was Komine made - it rather is good as all the lenses I saw online that was Komine made were good to exceptionally good.

I need to try mine with a 2x teleconverter, I got one with the lens (and my other screwmounts) but I've never even mounted it.
