Holga landscape

I thought I'd post one of my 'Single in October Challenge' photos here too, because most of you won't be aware of this challenge, and thus won't see the photos. However, I dedicated to the Holga 60/8 for Pentax for a whole month, and this is one of the best until now. A whole plastic lens, with a fixed aperture, and not sharp at all...

very painterly! Using the camera where it's "weakness" is actually its strong point.

+1 to dms' comment about the image being "painterly". And just the right subject, as well. In fact, I would highly recommend you go back to this same scene as the weeks go by and maximize your Fall foliage potential. I'm reminded of the Hudson River School painters from the 19th century, although their landscapes were often huge and sweeping in grandeur. This could be a slice cut from one of those paintings!

Having seen what Rense can do with this lens in the monthly photo challenge I ordered one for my K-5 IIs.

BTW Rense's images from last month were Outstanding, I strongly suggest you look him up on His Flickr Page.

Rense with this lens is living proof that sharpness is not everything, and sometimes it's almost nothing. He has made a few really stunning images with this completely not sharp lens. It does have some sort of magic to it anyway, or it's just Rense!
