Any AF primes for less than $100 out there?

Just what the subject lines says... do they exist in some complete form or fashion?

I can't think of any. Unless you can find someone who desperately wants to sell off their DA 40XS or DA 35 f/2.4 and needs a fast sale.

The only one I ever saw come close to $100 was a Marketplace listing for an F50/1.7 with a dented filter ring & some scratches for about $150. I was lucky last year & snagged a DA 35/2.4 for $100 just seconds after the seller listed it! So I guess it's possible, altho very uncommon.

Assuming you're trying to buy something new, then Canon's got one Pentax's cheapest AF lens is currently the 50mm F1.8 ($184 or $116 with any DSLR purchase).

I got my FA 50/1.7 for $100 & a 200 mile round trip to pick it up. You can get lucky on Craigslist once in a while...

Mine even had a PZ-70 & Tamron 28-200...

Got an FA 50/1.4 Locally for $100. Indeed, luck is all that matters.

I got my FA 50 1.4 for right at $50 off of Ebay because it had "so much fungus it was unuseable".

It really only had a small spot which cleaned right up. :-D

AF primes I have seen sold at camera shows for less than $120 in the past 3 years: F 28mm, FA 28mm, F 50mm f/1.7, FA 50mm f/1.4, maybe an F 50mm macro, Pentax/Cosina/etc. 100mm macro. Other good candidates would be Sigma screwdrive primes from the '90s (28mm, 24mm, etc) but they don't show up very often.

I forgot about that one. Which is odd, since I own one.

The Vivitar/Cosina/Phoenix/etc 100mm f/3.5 macro can legitimately be purchased for $100 or less, without requiring too much luck.

Any other AF prime (for Pentax) that I'm aware of costs more than $100 unless you get lucky.

Hmm... sounds like slim pickings. Are AF lenses whose design may be a few years old really that complex to manufacture?

Keep an eye on eBay, KEH, and maybe Adorama's used department.

I'm assuming you're in the US.
