Replacement bayonet?

I've a lens that I've been using on my Ist*DS for awhile. Recently, it seems that the bayonet has been damaged and it no longer mounts correctly. Seems like it would be simple to replace, but I dont know where to begin looking for a replacement part.

New Bayonet?

Hello Kujako, welcome to the forum!
Depending on what series the lens is (fully manual, auto aperture-'A' mount, or fully auto-F, FA, DA) I'd look for a cheap 'non-working' or lens with damaged optics but otherwise OK. Once a lens has (say) bad scratches or barrel/housing issues, they sell pretty cheap. If all you need is the bayonet and it has the right contact configuration, it should work.
Or, take it to a camera repair shop and get an estimate for replacement bayonet. They might even have a spare bayonet to sell.
I've seen scratched-optic lenses sell for $10-$20 on eBay; as long as it's the right bayonet, that should do it.

After some hunting around, I found the following...

Genuine Pentax Replacement Parts from

While it is not the same lens model, it "looks" like the correct part.

That ring is plastic. You might waant to upgrade to metal if you are going through the trouble.

Well the one it is replacing is plastic, which is why it broke. However I have not found a source for a metal one.

I ordered the above plastic bayonet. We'll see how it goes. I'm a bit nervous about transferring the metal bits from the current damaged bayonet onto the new one, but it's not like I can break it anymore then it is.
