DA 21 and FA 31 Landscape Preference?

Does anyone have experience using both of these lenses? Do you prefer the FA 31 over the DA 21 for wide or landscape shots? I'm not trying to do a VS as I know they are completely different lenses, but do you find yourself using the FA 31 over the DA 21 for landscape or wider shots even though they are 10mm in focal length apart? Or vice versa. Maybe you find that the DA 21 is a much better choice.

I sure wish the DA 21 was better for indoor shots, but hey that's not what it was built for.

21mm would be a better choice of focal length. The 31mm will be very challenging in terms of finding a good composition.

I realize that. I want to hear from owners of both lenses who may have elected to use say the FA 31 over the Da 21 because of IQ or some other personal reason.

I own both the FA 43 and DA*50-135 which are exceptionally sharp lenses that always seem to give me pleasing shots no matter how difficult the subject or lighting may be. I'm having a tough time with the DA 21 in that regard.

What is your concern with 21 ltd indoors? Just bump your ISO. I use it to chase kids all the time.

I have them both, which I use exclusively for landscapes. I really like the IQ of the 31 stopped down. They both make lovely light stars, the DA21 a 14-point star and the 31 an 18-pt star.
When I am doing a pano, I shy away from using my 21 because the barrel distortion makes it trickier to stitch. Nevertheless, they are both great performing lenses.

So you don't use one anymore over the other? (for landscape or wide shots). Do you find the 21 works well indoors for your wide family shots? Or do you find yourself grabbing the FA 31 for that.

I have both and would not hesitate to recommend either. The 31 is my number one lens and is used most as a walk around and is the best lens I have. The 21 and the 15 are used when wider is preferred. All are fantastic. The 21 gets the most work on my K-01 and is like using an old 35mm in full frame film days. The 31 is on my K-5 more than any other lens and is worthy of its reputation.

Basically it depends on your application. Do you need wider than 31? Use the 21 or 15 depending on the need. The same logic applies for the other longer primes.

I let the scene dictate my chosen focal length, so if I need wider, I grab my 10, 15, or 21. Tighter, I grab a longer FL.
