Sometimes I have taken the Super Macro Takumar alone looking for details, but then taking som non macro shoots with it gives a sharp and pleasant color rendeded pics.

The best method I know for determining what focal length you will use is to go through your photos and note what focal length your zoom was set at for each photo. Soon you will notice a pattern in the focal lengths you are choosing. If you decide on a prime lens choose from that data.

Sample Landscape for ya

San Francisco. Shot on Saturday evening. K30 and DA 70 Limited. Slik Able 300DX Tripod. Shutter activated with remote control. I also shot with DA 21 limited, DA 40 Limited, and DA 55-300. With the DA21 Limited, the Field of View was wide enough to catch the houses and cars on both sides of the street I was on. I shot B&W only with the 21 and 40, so I'm not including them as samples.

Tripod + kit lens at ~ f/13 would work. Of course there are better options, but you'll be able to get great photos with the kit lens too.

It`s really all about your own (developing) style and preferences. So I agreed with Hendrik and Digitalis, get a nice zoom and work from there.
