Which photo is which lens at 135mm?

Nothing scientific Had nothing to do and compared my lenses at 135mm f8 center crop 100%.

The lenses are:
K 135/2.5
DA 50-200WR
DA 55-300

Which one is which?

IMO, testing at f/8 is a little silly.

If all your shots were taken at f/8, then there's no need for f/4 or f/2.8 lenses.

Well. If I did see a comparison like this I would also say 55-300 - 135 - 50-200 but the result is:

Upper left: DA 50-200 WR
Upper Right DA 55-300
Down: K135/2.5

Im confused too.

I see a lot of sample variations. The DA 50-200WR I have now is a very good one. Sharpness is equal to all M and K 135/3.5 Ive tested and it beat 2 samples of 55-300 Ive owned. The third 55-300 copy (the one tested) is better than my very good copy of DA 50-200WR.

The many white dots on the black surface on upper right pic. Is that the definition of better micro contrast?

The most likely problem when the test shows something odd is focus. For me it actually saves time to keep the same setup and take three sets of shots, refocusing for each set. Then later I can see which set represents the best focused group. Sometimes I have set up a target so that the plane of focus is definite and recognizable in the test shot.

You might be happier if you did corner crops and/or wide open. The Takumar Bayonet 135/2.5 is close to the K135/2.5 in the center at f8, for sharpness.

My DA 50-200 WR is pretty good too, but wouldn't focus to infinity until I adjusted it.

Contrast is best in last pic, thats why last one is easy to say. First 2 is more difficult but i would have say other way around cos pic1 looks little better to me, pic2 more burned white. Ur test prooves that 55-300 is not good at 135mm, my copy has worst IQ at 135mm.

It can be, but in truth it's not the best subject to evaluate this (or the general performance of a lens). It's hard to tell what the texture is, so it's hard to evaluate if it looks good.
