Does anybody know what B&H has done in the past for either Black Friday or Cyber Monday--I'd like to buy this lens but am willing to wait & would like to know which day would be the best to scoop one of these up....

In the past, B&H has done some amazing Black Friday deals, as well as given great "call in pricing".

Who is to say what they will do this year?

Regardless, I *always* make sure there is credit available on my cards so that I can pounce on whatever deal they throw my way.

I hope to score a DA 15mm and 21mm Limited on closeout if possible. That is my target this year.

Just ordered along with a hoya circular polarizer. Shipping estimate is for delivery Friday. Hoping it mates well with my K-01 for a lightweight telephoto.

I'm seriously considering this lens as an alternative to my DA* 60-250 mostly because of the weight difference. I would have ordered one right away but lack of funds are a hindrance for me now.....

I am surprised that the non-HD/WR lens has not been discounted yet - maybe it has not been discontinued and replaced with the HD/WR version?

It's most likely discontinued, as they will probably replace it with a DA L WR version later on.

I took a look at this lens in a shop today. I felt the build quality was beeter than the outgoing model. It is a bit heavier too, perhaps because they are using better plastic. It's interesting that the red plastic part that is visible is just part of the lens barrel, which is red all the way under the rubber grip, if that makes sense. Anyway, it felt like a more solid lens.

That sounds nice - thanks for sharing your thoughts on the lens.

I'd be particularly interested to know if there is less lateral play in the barrel when fully extended (300mm) vs. the DA.
