Hi, recently my DA 16-45 gave up on me.

I used it together with my DA70 ltd and a couple of M lenses (28/50/100/135/75-150/70-210mm)
Both for photography and video.

I loved it for photography. Great lens.
So now i need to replace it for wider angle coverage.
The easiest thing to do would be to just replace it by another DA16-45. They are not so hard to come by and not that expensive.

But I am also open to other (+-affordable) options, prime or zooms. Maybe something more suitable for video & found F4 (for photos) sometimes limiting creativity.
Any ideas or good experiences?

Tamron 17-50 f/2.8
Super sharp from f/4, quite acceptable at f/3.2 and usable at f/2.8 specially for portrait.
Better range, and it will cost a bit more than DA 16-45

+1 Just sold my 16-50 in favor of the Tamron 17-50. It is a very nice lens and regardless of what some may say, the build quality is not bad at all.

Indeed, i read everywhere that the tamron is a stellar lens. and still not too expensive.
I am curieus (Gary) on why you sold the da16-50? I saw a couple 2ndhand in my area for about 500euros. which seem like a good price.
One would think that to be the better option...

hm, the tamron 17-50 would be a solid option.
But i was also hoping for some less obvious options.
Remember i am also into video. Maybe there are lenses out there i don't even know the existence off... the sigma 18-35 could be a contender e.g.
