Those look great together. I have the 31mm in silver and I'm giving serious thought to the 43 and 77 in silver as well. Some think they look odd on the body but somehow I like the look. The coloured pouches sure make it easy to find them quickly in the bag.

I wonder if the resell value is any less?

Not that its rare, but my m135 3.5 isn't going anywhere. Why sell something that does so well for so cheap?

In the contrary Peter, resale value of them silver is higher than the black one. If I have a choice, I would definitely pick up the silver version. It signifies the fitting status of these awesome optics better than the ordinary black.

It's nice to see that people are keeping this thing going. If we have enough data, we could come up with a top 5 Pentaxforums user's favorite, just like the old PDML's list.

i'm just worried that a silver lens would draw unecessary attention from passerbys and possibly thieves

Well, never say never, because one time I thought I would never part with the DA 16-45, and now, a month ago, I sold it.
I'm thinking of letting the 31 Limited go, and that was another lens I did not think I would ever sell.

But ok, on the bright side, I like this set up a lot, and I'm not seeing me sell these three any time soon:
  1. DA 35 macro
  2. DA 70
  3. DA 21

But never say never...

DA 12-24 zoom

If someone gave me $30,000 to immediately resolve my lust for super long lenses, I would buy a Nikon D300, the 100-500VF lens and the 600VF prime plus all the gadgets my heart desires.

Then I would buy the 20D (to replace my 10D) and put my 12-24 on the 20D and never take it off. And every time I went on a major shoot the 12-24 would go along.

I was fortunate enough to acquire a 31 Limited. I'm old enough to never say never but barring some unforeseen event my plan is to leave it to one of my kids. You know, to me material possessions are just things to get something done, whatever that may be. My G Loomis Streamdance HLS 9' 5wgt fly rod fits me like no other rod I've ever casted. It's almost perfect as my go to rod. My ECCI pedals (I've raced for years online) cost a small fortune but they are bulletproof and they were one of those magical purchases where you buy something, hook it it up and it works, all the time and is never a problem, they solved a problem. The same with the 31 Limited. It is so beautiful and so well made, so smooth, so sharp, it's bokeh is so sublime that it's unthinkable to sell it. I just hope that I will be able to take at least one picture with it that justifies my possession of it before I go.

Definitely my PENTAX-A* 1:1.8 135. It is even good for self defense.

I have the silver 31 Ltd... Let me tell you from experience: most people think it's a cheapo lens that isn't capable of anything. And if I tell to friends how much the lens has cost, they all think I'm trying to pull a leg. To avoid drawing unnecessary attention, I would highly recommend the silver version...

gaaah....

I got normal black pouches... I had no idea they came with colored ones untill I saw that picture.

Those are so much cooler, and more usefull, the 31 is ok cause its bigger, but the pouches for the 43 and 77 are the same size so I have to feel them a bit to identify which lens is inside. Those color ones would make it easier. I want some too To make it worse when I bought my 21 ltd used I didnt get any pouch at all
