Probably DA* 50-135, but I'd really miss having something small for fun, and a wideangle.

My one lens DFA 50 mm f 2.8

I will be the heretic. I have the FA 43 and FA 77, and the right thing to do, I guess, would be to pick the 77 Ltd.

However, if I could only have one lens, that means I would always have to stand too far away from most of the things I want to photograph. For inside shots, I would generally be standing with my back against the farthest wall, and of course I would never have a macro lens. My choice then is the DFA 50 mm macro f 2.8. I lose nothing in terms of image sharpness, gain excellent macro capability, am able to approach subjects more closely, and do not lose an inordinate amount of light gathering capability (from 1.8 to 2.8).

Yes, I would live in regret over the two limited lens (just as I live in regret now at not owning the 31 ltd), but would still have great image quality and an expanded range of photographic capabilities.

If I did not have the DFA 50 2.8, my second choice might well be the seldom mentioned but highly competent FA 24-90 f 3.5-4.5, which would allow me to preserve a great deal of IQ while gaining lots of convenient range to include moderate wide angle, normal, and moderate telephoto.

Indeed, if we were allowed two lens, I could include the 24-90 and also have the 77 Ltd. For lower light situations, I could rent my Sigma 30 mm f 1.4 or the Tamron AF 17-50 f 2.8.

Most likely my SMC Pentax-FA 50mm F2.8 Macro. It's my sharpest lens and it also have an nice bokeh and it's a true 1:1 macro lens.

From my current lenses its easy choose tamron 17-50, my most used lens, good to photo many things and places.

I do not own da 16-50 or da18-135 but i think these would do also good.

Once again, I'm back to shooting with just a fast 50, so its not so much a question of "if" for me right now This time around, it's the FA f/1.4 variant, but I do prefer and have many fond memories of the DA*55

I gotta say, I've thought about it a lot with these threads, I love my 85, I love my 12-24, I love my 30/1.4 (check my lens list if you have any doubt) ect ect.. But honestly IF, I had to only super actual really have only one lens to rule them all, My DA*16-50mm would have to be the actual choice, wide enough to handle my wide angle addiction, enough range to cover most situations, sharp as, loverly render, Honestly, Its the "ONE" lens I would have to choose.
