Hopeful For Fast Primes with DA35 and DA55

The more I think about the Pentax D lens lineup, the more hope I have for the upcoming DA35 and DA55 lenses. Lenses such as:
DA10-17 FE --> replaces 17-28 FE
DA14/2.8 --> replaces FA20/2.8
DA*16-50/2.8 --> replaces FA*28-70/2.8
DA*50-135/2.8 --> replaces FA*80-200/2.8

In those cases, it is clear that Pentax derived the focal length and apertures from the lenses which they were replacing. The focal lengths are in most cases the 1.5x crop with comparable apertures. So, if we look at what the DA35 and DA55 might be...
DA35: 35mm * 1.5 = ~52mm - Perhaps replacing the FA50/1.4?
DA55: 55mm * 1.5 = ~82mm - Perhaps replacing the FA*85/1.4?

So I'm hopeful that we'll see a DA35/1.4 and a DA55/1.4. I would like to see them called DA*35 and DA*55 before I believe it, though.

Anyone else hopeful that we'll see some new fast primes next year?

I'd like an unobtrusive DA 24mm Limited, f/1.8 or better, for night photography and also for general photography. I find that focal length very useful. I have been looking high and low for the FA* 24mm; it's hard to find. Well, it is big and heavy and perhaps not that attractive anyway.

Hopeful? No, we have the 21mm Limited, so I don't have much hope for a 24mm!

Yeah, me neither. I was hoping the DA21 was in the 24-28mm range, as I was hoping the DA70 was more like a 60-65mm. I'm going to use the Nikon 24/2.8 that I converted to a K-mount for a while. It seems to perform pretty well, and I don't need the autofocus anyway.

I don't mind if the DA35 is only a rehash of the FA35/2, as long as they fix up the PF issues (which aren;t that bad BTW) it will be an awesome little lens..

I would like a cheaper (non pancake) version of the 21mm maybe a 24mm and then a 17mm as well.. But I don't see it happening any time soon.. (so I may have to just buy the 21mm)

Maybe I missed it...but are there any timelines? I'm looking for a fast lens but I can't get the 50 1.4 or 1.7 anymore....

Thanks,

Bernie

Thanks...looks like I'm going to have to wait quite a while. I do understand that Pentax doesn't want to sit on a bunch of old lenses but there's an obvious void here....If I was in the market for a camera right now, I wouldn't choose a Pentax. It's nice that all their lenses can work with all their cameras...but that doesn't help if you don't have any lenses to begin with!

Well, I own FA35/2 and based on my experience I would be happier to see something like DA30/2.0 or perhaps faster DA30/1.4.

Of course that means lens will be big, certainly not a pancake design, but with pancakes 21, 40 and 70 who needs 30 or 35 to be a pancake?

Anyway, I hope to see DA30/1.4 and DA55/1.4.
