What lens should I get

Hello everyone so I have a problem well its kinda a personal problem but here we go. I have been debating whether to get either the Da*55mm and a few other lenses to fill in the gaps in my primes or get the Da*50-135mm lens. Now if I get the 50-135 it means I get a Da 50mm 1.8 and either way I'm getting a MF 85mm f:1.4 A pin. Now if I get the 55mm there is no need for the 50mm so I could get something on the wider end so the choice is between the 55DA or the 50-135DA ? I would be using the lenses for weddings events and portraits. What one do you all think I should go with?

Question: what do you plan to use this lens / these lenses for?

For weddings and events I would go with the 50-135 it is more versatile. Since you are also getting the 85 f/1.4 that takes care of the shallow DOF shots, and the 50-135 will be easier to work with in fluid situations where time does not allow you to keep changing lenses.

If I were to shoot weddings/events professionlly (and I seriously doubt that I ever will, although I shoot live music commercially on a regular basis), I would use two bodies with DA*16-50 and DA*50-135 as the defaults. Flash on the first body after the ceremony. I would have a DA10-17 in the bag for special effects, along with FA31, DA*55 and FA77 for impact and low light.

Well more than one new lens is required for the OP to be up to shooting weddings professionally....

I have been doing more events than weddings I may get 1 wedding out of 10 events so what it sounds like I should get the 50-135 and the other primes that were a DA or FA 50mm and one of the 85mm f1.4 Apin lenses but then I was thinking that getting the 50 and 85 might be over kill with getting the 50-135 so I might look in to a tammy 17-50 f:2.8 so I have a full range and that will be it. So many choices so little money.
