Quality Built Lenses

I have the holy trinity of primes, the 31, 43, and 77. I'd like a wider lens to add to my collection and also maybe a longer lens as well. Are there any other Pentax lenses of the same build quality as those primes that meet those criteria?

Thank you...Blake

The DFA100WR comes to mind.

The DA15 Limited is a jewel. I don't have the 21, but many like it as well.

+1 for the DA 15mm (SMC version). The DFA100 WR is probably a good choice but I prefer my telephotos to be zooms, so something like the DA* 50-135mm.

Da15, dfa 100 wr, da*300. For a zoom I agree with the DA*50-135 which is a gem.

Why not try a manual focus lens--If you do any M42 or K (SMC) lens (andl M and several A lenses) should be of higher build quality than current limiteds.
I would suggest you look at a focal length you feel you are missing and consider an older MF lens.

The DA 15mm, DA 21, or just about any manual lens.

I forgot about the SMC FA F2.8 100mm Macro that I also have. I don't use it much but won't give it up.
Thanks for the suggestions.

It's all been said before.
All the DA limiteds have outstanding build quality, and the 15 and 21 would suit your needs nicely.
The DFA100WR is almost up to limited build quality, and will give you a true macro to add to your mix.
All the DA* lenses are built like tanks too, but they are bigger, not all metal and have SDM autofocus. The 300 is a magnificent lens.

I would suggest for a wide angle...the Pentax 12-24. Yes I know it's a zoom, not a prime and it's physically large...but it's very highly rated. I've used mine for about 4 years. Sharp...photos are great.

I have primes...40 Ltd., 70 Ltd., 50 Macro, 50 normal F 1.4 and I like them. The 40/70 are tiny...great quality...but for a wide angle zoom...hard to beat the quality of a Pentax 12-24.

I also have the kit lens I got with my K10D and a Tamron wide angle to zoom (forgot the numbers) that is OK except that the tube slides out or in if its on an angle. I'd like to sell that and pur that cash towards another lens or a K-3.

My wife's DA 300 and DA 200 lenses are magnificent. Her DA 300 is noticeably better than my SMC Pentax-A series 300 f/4. That said, my very favorite lenses (outside of the limiteds and those already mentioned) would include the 135 f/2 (K series), the 50 f/1.4 (M series), and the 35 f/2 (M series) -- though that latter would not be worth it given that you already possess the 31 limited.
