The green ones have been discontinued. There will be some nice black friday deals on the remaining stock at B&H this weekend.

The red versions are now available worldwide.
Like fire sale prices?

I am so jealous of anyone who has Limiteds. Or any auto-focus prime, to be honest.
The 40 is quite cheap, especially considering its quality. The DA40 XS is not a limited, but has great IQ and is even cheaper.

I would also note that there is no comparable lineup from Nikon, Canon, or Sony. The combination of small size, excellent "real world" performance and superb aesthetics makes these lenses a pleasure to use.
I completely concur. These lenses are one of the reasons my Nikonian friends are sometimes jealous of Pentax. The only thing they have coming close is the 28, 50 and 85 f1.8 package:

But these are ludicrously huge (and faster of course) so they don't compare at all.

There have been discounts already for a little while. There should be even better discounts during Black Friday but they won't be giving them away

Maybe its just the lighting or angle,, but that HD lens looks oddly lacking in glass color.

The glass appears to have a different color due to the new coatings. There will be some side-by-side photos in the review

@adam I'm more interested in the softbox you were using to shoot these. Mind to share which one?

It's the B&H Impact XL light shed:

That lens is on my radar, as is the F 50 f1.7. I'd really prefer something around 70 - 85mm, but there is no such lens I can afford in the k-mount. I'd like the XS, but the filter thread might be an issue with me. Darn choices! I think something like the F 501.7 might be best for me. Or an FA50 f1.7, if I can find it for a price I can afford.

I just picked up a DA50/1.8, sounds like that would work for you - and your 'finance minister' will be grateful.

I've always thought red was a Pentax color so I like the new shade. Not enough to pay the current premium, but it's OK.

I'm sure you're right.

By the end of 2014, I think I will own at least 1 K-mount autofocus prime.
