SMC DA 15mm Ltd. F4

Well B&H just got me with their sale. I ordered the DA 15mm. F4 lens to use with my K5-II. I have been using a Bower 14mm 2.8 which I really liked for how wide it is and the depth of focus it allowed. But what I didn't with the Bower was it could not use ND filters (no threads). Also, the Bower is quite a bit larger & heavier than the Pentax lenses.
Merry Christmas to me.

Good choice, it's a very nice and compact lens with star potential

I thought of getting the HD version, but after reading the comparison review done here I decided to save the money.
Now I have the 15 to go with my DA 18-135mm, DA 35mm F2.8 limited macro, FA 50mm F2.8 macro, DA 70mm F2.4 Limited, and the Bower 14mm f/2.8. My last investment will be either Sigma/Tamron 70-200 or the Pentax 60-250mm. Just need to save my pennies.

I do have a Vivitar 70-210mm f2.8-4.0 Series 1, Version 3, which is manual. I don't seem to have the skill to use this lens, so will replace it with auto focus lens.

Yeah, I'm not sure if I did the right thing by getting the HD version, but I've never really been into the star burst thing so It probably won't matter to me as either version is probably a better lens then I am a photographer!…..such is life. One thing is for certain with me, that is I'll have no control from now on in not acquiring a few other of the Da limiteds to keep it company…. 35 and 70 maybe? (when the wife looks the other way of course!)

Well the HD version is still there. It might not do star burst as well, but the Bokeh is better with the rounded aperture blades. I hope I get a good copy of the smc one, my only recourse will be either return it for a refund or pay more and exchange it for the HD copy.
