Lenses I Wish Pentax Would Make

What lenses would you like to see Ricoh-Pentax make?

I love my old SMC M50 1.7, and I know many do; I'd like to see an updated version. A manual HD M1.7, with nice rounded blades and a lens hood. It could be all metal for a classic feel, and still be produced at a very reasonable price. In fact, most everything could be legacy except for the coatings and the aperture blades... and maybe WR added.

Not so much for myself but for the sake of every beginner that's using Pentax, I think Pentax needs to make a 18-55mm DC kit lens so that the AF is silent.

I'd like a DA* or two that are f/4, still excellent optics and decently bright but less bulk. And a lot of folks here want something between the DA21 and FA31, like a 28mm f/2 - and WR please Personally I'm looking forward to that 17-85 or ?? on the roadmap; I expect weather seals on that one, hopefully DC too. It's not marked as DA* but I'll manage... though in 2012 it was marked a DA*

I'm pretty humble.
D FA 24mm Ltd f/2 WR DC and D FA 85mm Ltd f/1.4 or 1.8 WR DC.

And please no more than 1k $ each (at least on Black Friday).

DA* 80-400mm f4-5.6. A direct copy of Nikon's latest would work fine. I'd pay $2500.

That makes sense, Adam.

I'd buy one and it would probably ruin all the rest of my adequate lenses. If it was a stop faster I'd be drooling.

I think there's room for a small 27/2.4 Limited, at least in my bag.

The 55-300 is already out with WR, so no point in shouting for that one anymore

Plus one on that one! I'd snap it up!

Updated HD and WR version of 16-45mm and a new, Ultra-Wide WR-HD zoom, like a 10-22mm or 10-24 or 10-18mm (best!) for all of us serious, get-down-low and dirty, landscape photographers!

I don't need any lenses…. but I bought a Sigma 70 macro, A Sigma 8-16, a Pentax 135-150 macro would be nice…and a Pentax 150-400zoom of some description would be nice. They could have sold me the first two Sigmas, and they probably could sell me the last 2. From my perspective they have the wide end pretty well covered with lots of choices. Them coming out with a 20-40 pretty much blows me away, unless it's an absolutely awesome in design, low heavily corrected for distortion and CA, and very high res.

Modern 28mm DA Limited f2.8.

Pancake small design like the rest.

End of story.

I just think having such a great lens at 31, makes putting out one at 28 less appealing. And matching the 31 in IQ would be a chore. In fact, it has been a while since Pentax released a lens with the Rep of the 31. Sometimes having been really good in the past, limits your future.

I would love it if they weather sealed the DA limiteds and added weather sealing to the FA limiteds, along with quick shift.

As far as zooms goes, they need a replacement for the 16-50 and something like Tokina's 11-16. My bet is that they are working on full frame lenses, meaning that all of this will have to wait.

How About....

The same lens I (and many others) have been waiting for since...oh, quite a while, now.
The DA (or, D FA) 80-200mm f/2.8 WR zoom?
The Sigma version is about $1,200, Tamron's is $750. Somewhere in that price range would be great. A silver version wouldn't hurt, either!
Built-in tripod mount and quiet focusing? Sure.
