There is a clear distortion at 20mm.
But pretty much pure barrel, no mustache, so it should be easy to correct.

The downside of that, it would probably be a VC version,
with lower image quality (deliberate decentering!) than the current A16.

Believe it or not the Nikon version is actually sought after ie the screw driven version, and people pay a premium for it.
Obviously not if you are using the bodies that don't support screw drive, but that's the story there.

I'm quite happy with the lens, for the cost (esp grey market) it's a bargain and then some.
We'll see more of this Pentax lens though, I would hope for the price there are no QC issues or optical problems for such a short range zoom

I think that it's hilarious. And adds some needed humor to the nitpicking that the DA 20-40 ltd has been receiving in various threads.

Lighten up, y'all!!

I was going to comment that the in-camera distortion correction feature of the K-5 should be able to compensate. However, I don't remember the menu setting.

On the K-5, it's on the Unicorn 3 menu, 4th item down "Scene Distortion Correction". Looks like it's a great feature to use.

The DA Limited Zoom club is a good place to post your photos with this lens:
