FA 43 MIJ vs Vietnam

Does the Vietnam model have the same used value as MIJ?

Thanks

Randy

For most people, yes, though there may be some that would, misguidedly IMO, pay more for a MIJ. It must be a really new lens to be AIV, as new MIJ copies were still shipping pretty recently.

Probably because MIJ, Silver, lens with exotic pouches, etc. are harder to get they are considered a higher value.

There are plenty of black MIJ's with regular black pouches. He didn't say an old or silver copy or anything about the pouch. Silver, btw, doesn't necessarily mean more valuable either. B&H has a new silver one for $599, black is $746 or so.

Just saying what I noticed in the used gear market.

Silver lens most of the time will be more expensive than black.
MIJ version will be more expensive than AIV.

There seems to be at least some evidence that early, pre 20,000 43's are a bit better (and certainly some belief). Not conclusive evidence, but something better than anecdotal. They seem to command a slightly higher price.

More "different" than quantifiably "better". They used different coatings and have a greenish tint to the front element.

From what I have seen, yes they have a higher resale price, generally. Why? Unfounded discrimination. But would you rather not have something 'made' versus 'assembled'? I don't care, as long as the price is good and the performance is bang on.
