MissK, I use this lens with the Tamron 1.4x TC and SDM works fine (but sometimes the lens hunts a bit, even in bright light).

It does sports too!

I've always wanted to add to this thread. This thread was one of the reasons I bought the 50-135mm. These are from my first sporting event.

Thanks! I really like this lens. Although at times, I think it's a bit short. But compared to the size and weight of longer lenses, I guess I can't really complain.

Here are my examples. The weathersealing sure paid off, as I was taking pictures at the Indianapolis MotoGP race as Ike "conveniently" passed over. Even though it was a bit short the 50-135mm did alright, and I didn't have to worry about it getting wet, unlike most of the photogs with cameras and lenses from the big 2 did.

I was having second thoughts about having bought the Sigma 100-300mm f4 instead of the DA* 300mm, since I didn't have any cover for the Sigma and it just stayed in my bag all day. I'll just have to keep something in my bag for times like these, I guess.

Hi,

Just thought I should add some of my own (taken at Sola airport, Norway) as an appreciation of others efforts
The second picture from the left is cropped to about 3/4 of original.

Btw I: I love this lens (of course).
Btw II: I could have toned down the colors, but this is my personal taste.

Votesh, your first photo is my laptop's desktop background. I didn't know it was shot with the 50-135 when I chose it. I liked it because Hayden was in the lead.

I think I found it on flickr. I could be mistaken and I could actually have a very similar photo from another source. But the scene was good enough for me!

(Click on images for larger versions.)

On a vacation at Crete (Greece) we hiked the Samarian gorge and at the end of day we were waiting to get out ouf Agia Roumeli when we were told that because of the rough sea the ferry would pick us up at the beach not from the harbor.

Waiting for the ferry I sat down and took a few shots of the sea and the waves crushing against the rocks. I took more than a few of those waves on me and my Pentax Could not imagine doing that with any other system! After a quick external clean up I and my Pentax were ready to go!

I did love the lens before but after this one I love it even more. The guys at Pentax have truly invented an easy-care-DSLR-system...! Now I know for sure I can take my Pentax and it's DA* lens to anywhere and not to worry about a thing!
