Adapter for Mamya screw mount

I have come across this lens from a Mamya SLR with screw mount. I have tried to use the M42 adapter but then I was only able to focus extremely close as macro and not as a standard lens. I believe an adapter with a lens is required for this to work. Does anyone know of such adapter for this lens for Pentax?

And have anyone used this lens and know the quality?

M42 is M42. Which M42 adapter were you using? A flanged adapter, which will not allow infinity focus, or a non-flanged adapter? It is also possible that someone altered the focusing mechanism on the lens...

What does your adapter lock like? Can you add a pic? Some adapters wont let you focus on infinity.

The focal plane for M42 is exactly the same as for K-mount so it should work.

I'm not sure if it's flanged or not. I have attached a picture of it. I'm using this on a Spiratone 500mm.

Maybe it's not a M42 adapter but an adapter just for the spiratone?

That is not an M42 adapter. That is a T-mount adapter. You need one of these...

It fits inside the mount on the camera.

This is a flanged M42 adapter. This is what you don't want.

That adapter looks like it has a flange (the black part) and therefore wont let you focus on infinity. You will need to find one that, when attached, does not stick out from the k-mount.

Importent when it comes to T2 and M42 is that the thread has the same diameter but not the same threading so do not force the adapter on.

It's just a generic M42 28mm. Buy a cheap infinity focus M42 adapter from China and take the spring clip off.

Just be sure to take the spring clip out, or make sure the screw that holds it in doesn't mesh with the threads on the lens before you try it on the camera...

That is a T-mount adapter. The diameter is 42mm, but the thread pitch is wrong for M42 Praktica/Pentax. With any luck you did not damage the threads on your new lens.
