Samsung Lenses

I searched google and couldnt find much info. I am assuming we can use samsung lenses (I also assume they are the same as their pentax counterparts). Would they be cheaper?? It might be interesting to see a pentax camera with the blue D-Xenon 12-24 or something like that.
Any Thoughts???

The Samsung lenses should be exactly the same, so no problem to use. If I remember right, I checked a Samsung/Pentax 50-200mm, and the Samsung was half the price (~$180 converted from NOK) of the Pentax. Eventually chose the Tamron 70-300, though.

I don't think they would have the SMC coating from Pentax. I could be wrong.

If it didn't have SMC from Pentax, at least it already have it. Schneider Multi Coating.

I would be most surprised, if they didn't, I have both the Schneider Kit zooms, the 18-55 exhibits better resistance to flare than my DA*16-50.

It is my theory that Pentax builds these for Samsung to higher QC than its own kit zooms, because Samsung wants to build a name for its dSLRs. Certainly, most happy with both of mine.

The 18-55 II has one less elements, which would help identify it. I don't think that I seen focus motor contacts in the photos of the Samsung kit lens though.

I'd be really interested to see the results of that test.

I would love to see you to include a flare test as well, since this will confirm whether or not the Samsung has SMC coating. SMC coating is usually the superior one.
