My opinion about both lenses at least at f=20 mm and wide open is the following:
1. Lim outperforms the DA* in the corner sharpness, overall contrast (look on the sky!) and some color saturation (look on the railcars).
2. DA* outperforms Lim in the center sharpness, but not in the corner because great CA.
I will resume testing the lenses this week also. Is the "test image" with night railroad station enough good?
The faultless lens can't has sharper corners than center.

So you do not think that this could be field curvature, which is causing it? shooting f 2.8 @ 20 mm.? because some shots center is sharper, but edges are softer?

Could you compare the lenses at 40mm?
Yes, of course! I will do it on both 30 and 40 mm. And also closed, not only wide open.

I did not say that corners are sharper than center by the one lens. I did say that the center is sharper by the DA* 16-50 but corners are better by the Lim 20-40. And the difference between the center and the corners by the Lim 20-40 is not so great as by the DA* 16-50.

you mean to say that the sharpness is more consistent along the frame then the 16-50?

DA20-40 is not sharp at the center, but sharp at corners - it means that this lens has decentering.
When I look on the notebook's screen images I can't say the 20-40 is "sharp at the corners". In my opinion it is " a little bit softer in the center, a little bit sharper in the corner" as it's competitor.

My eyes says that 20-40's center at 20 mm is worse than 20mm's corners.

Sorry again. Small gift to you. Three lenses (DA* 16-50, Sigma EX 10-20 and HD Lim 20-40) at 20 mm and 5.6. The same railroad station.
