I think it is the weight. Seems as large as the FA31 (if not larger), but much lighter.

It looks 20mm is not the sweet end of 20-40.
It does very well in the middle indeed. at 30mm, the 20-40 is very nice.

Thanks for the photos! Looks like 21mm has more CA. Bottom right is also much better on the 20mm.
