Any experience with these two options?
I plan to use it for video as well.
I haven't used these lenses at all. In a way, i guess they will both perform well.
But maybe one has a specific advantage over the other?

I would be considering the DA 35 ltd macro + sigma 30 1.4, but that would have to be a 2 step purchase with a year in between...

thks!

Are you talking about the 35mm F1.4 Art or the (discontinued for Pentax) 30mm F1.4? They are totally different beasts.

The 35mm F2.4 is good optically but it's just a consumer lens, while the 35mm F1.4 Art is probably the sharpest normal lens you can currently get for Pentax.

thats the thing. I was thinking the Art 30mm 1.4 was available for pentax as well. appears not. the 35 1.4 is very attractive but expensive. (i'm not saying it is not worth it..) Same for the 18-35 1.8. Same for the 31ltd.
the DA35 is a nice lens but as said, i'd rather max out on 30mm and want a nice focus ring...
I'd like to use the lens for video as well. I may have to turn to the former sigma 30mm 1.4 or as, someone suggested, the sigma 28mm 1.8

Why not consider the FA 35 then?

I came across an A28mm 2.8 this afternoon for 30euros.
Bought it, since this is a nice lens to do video with.

And with all money going to presents these days, there's no room for higher end stuff... :-)

That is a very nice lens. I've got one and it is a joy to use. Nice and sharp too. I paid $77 for mine.
