Yeah for me today! AFA 1.7

Well today was a good day. I bought the Fairy dusted AFA 1.7 teleconverter, plus a F 50mm 1.7 that I used to take this shot for a absurdly low amount of cash. I am looking forward to using the AFA. I know it has its limits, but I have a 100mm macro that I am thinking might go with it nicely. I have read much pro and con about this converter, but hopefully mated with the right lens I'll be enjoying it!

Make sure you actually nailing focus before judging it negatively. Some people have found it to front/back focus and needed to calibrate using the AF adjustment function. Also keep in mind the effective new focal length and use high shutter speed, tripod, etc. I've gotten some bad results with it, but traced it back to bad technique. (When you put in on a 300mm or 400mm base lens to turn it into an extreme telephoto, you really need good technique.) When used properly and you hit focus, it is quite good. Works best on lenses 100mm and up, although can be also be used to turn a 35 or 50 prime into a nice portrait lens with creamy bokeh...
