DA 35mm macro Limited barrel noise?

Hey all,

I just received this new lens in the mail a few minutes ago. I've taken a couple test shots and I absolutely love it. One thing, though. When the barrel is focused in (extended), there's a little clicking noise. When it's manually focused out (retracted/whatever), the clicking is more audible. Does anyone else have this issue?

The barrel is rock solid and there's no wobble and the image quality is fantastic, so I'm pretty sure I'm making an issue out of nothing.

hmm, interesting. I tried it and do hear a really faint click but it is only near the point of being all the way out. Doesn't feel rough or anything, and I don't hear it when I AF.

I likely would have never noticed it...it is really faint with mine.

I ordered it on Tuesday from Calumet Camera through Amazon. I made sure that it had a US warranty so it wasn't one of the first ones from Japan. Last time I checked, it's available on Adorama but not B&H.

My problem is that I maybe go too far looking for something wrong with anything new I get.

I love the lens so far. It isn't perfect, but is a great walkaround lens and has incredible close focus. And way better build quality than the non-limiteds.

Just shoot and be happy.

This sounds like Australian or English; didn't know Americans say it too

It's a side effect of web forums. We all read each other's regional way of speaking and pick up on things we typically wouldn't say.

I was born in Ohio and raised in Kansas but I find myself occasionally ending my forum posts with something weird like "cheers."

That's totally English/Australian to me because no one says "cheers" when they say goodbye here in the US.

So you're the one got that VL90 . I would love to hear how this lens compares to the rest of the excellent VL line.

Yeah, but I mean like pollen on the lens close

Can't do that with a 100mm...

And please leave my blood out of it. I need all I can get.
