Help to Identify some Cragslist Takumars

Sorry if this is in the wrong area.

These Takumar lenses are available about 80 miles away and seems like a nice kit. I talked to the lady who owns them and she assured me everything is pristine.

35/3.5

135/2.5

200/4

Another lens? Perhaps nifty fifty?

Pentax close up filter, UV filter and some other stuff. Looks like OEM caps and cases for everything

Can anyone identify the lenses from the photos?

Worth 160 mile round trip? She is coming to me in a couple weeks, and she said she'd hold on to them if I wanted them.

Go for it. 160 miles, make the trip a pleasant ride, but just gets the cobwebs out of the car.

The description is copied from the lens hoods, not the lens so it's hard to say. They look to be in excellent shape but without seeing the actual lens name plates I don't think it is possible to say for sure.

If you can assume that the hoods are correct and not mixed in from something else then there is either: f/2.5 135mm, f/4 150mm, or f/5.6 200mm and a f/2.5 135mm or f/4 200mm.

If I had to guess I would say the one on the left is a 200 f/4 and the one on the right a 135 f/3.5 but that's only a guess.

Regardless they look in good shape, unless they have fungus, so well worth the drive IMHO. If it was me, I would just go and look. Of course it depends on what see wants for them.

Well here are the lenses and a bit of background on them from the lens database....The price is not bad. Probably $200 to $300 worth of lenses depending on condition / cases and caps - see ebay (completed sales). You are going to need a M42 to K adapter to use the lenses. It could be very much worth the drive.

As indicated already, the possibilities for the two larger lenses are 200/4, 135/2.5 and 150/4.

I think the larger lens on the left is a 200/4 and the smaller one on the right is a 150/4.

The PF lens review database indicates the following dimensions (diameter, length in mm):
200/4: 64.6 x 136
135/2.5: 66 x 80.5
150/4: 59.5 x 95.

The shorter lens is either a 135 or 150, but its apparent diameter in the image is smaller, so I'm guessing it has to be a 150. Scaling the diameters in the image, I get a ratio of the left lens to the right of 1.14, which is fairly close to their actual relative diameters of 1.08.

So, I'd say:
On the camera: Super-Tak 50/1.4 (the dot beside the 1.4 is a good tip)
Longer lens: S-M-C 200/4
Shorter lens: S-M-C 150/4

As for the 35/3.5, the image does not have a 'dot' beside the '3.5' marking. The lens shown in the PF review database does have the dot.

Edit: Several images in the PF Marketplace show S-M-C Takumars 35/3.5 without the dot. That's probably what it is.

Thanks for all the help guys, Yes I have the M42 adapter already. I looked at the database and also realized the description was from the Hood, too bad it's probably not a 135/2.5 but thanks to the tip it is likely a 55/1.4 on the cam i'm making the drive.

Thanks Everyone for allowing me to pic your brains it's saved me so much time.

Cool kit! If the Vivitar 283 flash is still operational, it is an additional value point. The voltage is too high for modern cameras, but it is a powerful workhorse.

I hope you enjoyed the drive. After all, what is 160 miles to a Montanan?

I'd say that's a pretty good set of kit, and worth the price. The 50/1.4 is a great little lens, as is the 35/3.5. You'll see plenty of super images from all four lenses. And a Spotmatic as a bonus.

Waiting for your pics!
