The best price in Canada on the DA*50-135mm is $1100. For the DA*16-50mm, $1000. Green, viscous envy is filling my blood vessels. Any American with money who doesn't take advantage of this is a fool (or someone not interested in these lenses)!

I don't understand - these places don't ship to Canada?

If not, you could have a US-based friend, relative or even a forum member here purchase it and ship it to you, with you covering all expenses via Paypal or equiv. If the prices are that different, wouldn't that be worthwhile?

+1

While I've had good luck with B&H and Adorama, the reality is that when I've been able to handle the actual gear before purchase at my local store, that is the stuff I've ended up keeping.

Last week I bought the PENTAX DA 12-24mm with a two year guarantee and a 77mm UV filter for $749.99 at Henry's in Toronto.

Re: ProDigital2000: I had never heard from them before seeing the listing on eBay last pm. Since that was around midnight I called early this am to make sure all was well. Their e-maiil system is up-to-date, giving me confirmations, etc. of my orders and payments. The rep I spoke with was knowledgable and very courteous, assured me of in-stock status and UPS air shipment today. We'll see..............

Too bad I'm not ready to buy a lens right now, I would love to get the 16-50 for that price. I'm still a little hesitant because of the QA issues though, I'm not sure they have been solved. As for buydig, I have bought several things through them, and beach camera(they are sister companies), and have never had any issues. I wouldn't have any reservations in ordering through them.

$449 at Henry's in CAD will be like $750 USD in a matter of weeks. Good price though. I was able to test botht he 35 and the 200 at my locl store, a luxury I have never had before, very greatfull for it now.

Buydig is great. Never had a problem with many purchases from them. I'd say jump on this with both feet. I wish I had waited, and I hope they get the DA*300 soon.

Actually, the lowest prices I've seen are at prodigital2000 in Stratford, Ont. Last night I bought the DA* 300 for $1100 (they still have one left, I think) and the DA 35/2.8 for $360 (no more left). I'll get them Tuesday.................. (8- )
Wow! Those are really great prices! DA35 for $360? That's a steal.
