I like Hoya brand filters, they're about middle of the road price. I know some people use exposure bracketing and then make a HDR image instead of graduated filters but I haven't tried it.

BTW I got my 150-500 sigma and I think I'm sending it back. It's OK image quality up to about 300mm, but it's just to big, heavy, and expensive to justify the poor image quality between 400-500.

I did get good news from criscam, even though I told them I fell on it, they are servicing my 55-300 WR under warranty. It read something like "zoom stuck, internal rattle, very little wear". I Guess I lucked out because it looked intact still lol

excellent news on the repair front. Hope it comes back better than new, from what I have heard the do fantastic work.

I can understand about the Sigma being heavy. I was warned about that when I was looking for a lens, and I was concerned about sharpness. I am glad I chose the 55-300. Granted a little more reach would be nice. But not as the risk of IQ. I am quite happy with the detail this camera and lens gives. I am sure a better lens, when I can afford it, will result in better pics <better eyes wouldn't hurt either lol>
I literally sold anything and everything I had in my room to make it happen though. That is how much I enjoy photography.
Will be looking into the Hoya filters.
