Sorry 'bout that. It sounded like this was all you had. There was nothing in your profile or signature that indicated you had anything else, plus with so few posts ...

The biggest difference will be on the K-3. I'm working as hard as I can to finish the 55-300 review, and there are four (4!) seperate AF tests against the 60-250. Should be up by next week the latest.

The 55-300 w/ the K-3 holds its own very well against the 60-250, the latter of which is hampered by its slower SDM motor. I haven't finished tallying up all the af results from the hundreds and hundreds of photos taken between two cameras, but the 55-300 so far has a higher keeper rate for one of the four tests.

Seriously, the K-3 is very much worth a consideration, especially if you have the original K-5.

Thanks for the review Heie!

K3 with 55-300WR might be interesting solution. I have to go and test the performance. Was considering of getting a Nikon due to more F2.8 lens options, but then - they weigh more, and 80-200 would still miss the reach of 55-300. Maybe one option would be nikon 7100 with sigma 120-300 2.8 but costs tons of money and weighs like a pig.

If the focusing is good in k3 I'm happy with low light performance of Pentax APS-C. focusing in low light, weather sealing and low gear weights (with reasonable optical performance) are the key points for me. maybe WR 55-300 would be a nice addition..

here's some pics with k5 and 55-300 DAL.

Thanks PKMike. 55-300 is a great lens for its size and cost!

Have brought sigma 50-150 2.8 into equation. Somehow it feels stupid to update camera and keep the same glass. K5 is fine in other areas expect low light. Of course it is bugging because i like to shoot in low light conditions (thats when light plays most of its magic). There would be a good deal on sigma 50-150 2.8 that seems to be a good glass and would help in some situations (of course not wr). Or then get k5IIs as a second body (and get mi wifey into pentax world also ,)
