I bought of those out of the junk bin for $7 once. It did have a few white spots on one element, so I had to pay a little bit for Eric to clean it, but still...

Link81,

Definitely a good catch. Post a few pictures when you get a chance.

I will. It's a little dusty on the outside. But it wipes right off. A good exterior cleaning and it'll look like new. I can't believe how good of shape this thing is in.

I didn't even try and talk the guy down. It was such a good deal, I would've felt bad if I did.

I did try a couple snaps. Both were blurry turns out 1:1 is pretty hard handheld. Gonna break out the tripod later and give it a workout.

pictures, both full image and 100% crop (i think i did it right)

crop is nearly center of frame.

so far, i'm pretty happy with it. very little post, just brought the exposure up a bit, and adjusted the color, the aquarium lights really mess with awb.

If you do not buy it, I will. I want to buy a spare!

That is one of Kiron's jewels, together with the 28mm f2.

That's an insane price - you did massively well. Since the guy's a dentist, make an appointment for yourself and send some other business his way, too. He did you a $300 favour.

I got mine a couple of years ago from this forum's marketplace for $400, which I considered a very acceptable price to pay. It's excellent, easily my sharpest lens.
