I finally got it i just returned from the shop still learning how to hold the thing but i'll have a chance to test it this weekend, there's a motocross race in Serres (Greece) i'm going to, so expect images by Monday

Here are couple random shots i made on my way to home..

As for the auto focus, i think i've noticed a bit of delay on moving objects, but as i said, i just got it, and i'll have a chance to test it this weekend for the purpose i bought it so i'll let you know if it's ok later.

Congrats! Hope it will do the job well.

I keep telling myself that I don't need a longer lens, but it's really a heavier lens I don't need - longer I do need

Ok i'm back from the track, and i can say i'm impressed with the lens! I really like it, it kept my smile all weekend long, so even thou i haven't tried the bigma, i think i didn't made a mistake with my choice.

here are couple of pics from this weekend:

if you want you can see the whole gallery here

p.s. for motorsports, you need to set the os button on 2 (on the lens), but with the os turned on the autofocus is slower, just my 2 cents.

Congrats!
Appreciate the tip on the OS.
Did you try in body OS and how do you feel it compares to the lens OS?

If using lens OS turn off SR in the body or you can get blurry shots in my experience.
I also find if using the lens OS the battery drains faster, so good idea to have some extra batteries if you will be using lens OS heavily.

Yup, the battery was drained much faster then before, i covered one day with two pairs of batteries, while before one was enough.
