Samyang 16mm f2

There seams to be conflicting stories on the internet about the Samyang 16mm f2 aperture ring.
I just want confirmation, does it have an "A" setting ?

I think this depends on the lens mount. All the K-mount Samyang lenses that I have seen in real life so far have an aperture ring and an A setting. But! I have not seen the 16mm specifically. Hope someone else can confirm for sure.

You see, the problem is that stores usually show the photo of the Samyang Nikon variant (says NI on the aperture ring) or Canon (CA). It must say KR for Pentax mount.

Of the photos I've seen of the mount, there doesn't appear to be an aperture lever.

Yes, Samyang 16mm f/2 for Pentax does has an "A" setting making you able to control the aperture using camera controls. Very nice lens, by the way, not only optically but also in terms of build quality

Every picture I've been able to find turned out to be a Sony, Canon, or Nikon mount. Considering that every Samyang K-mount lens until now has been a KA, I would be astonished if the 16mm was not.

(Along with the 8, 14, and 85, I can confirm that the 24/1.4 and 35/1.4 do as well.)

I have the Rokinon variant of the Samyang 85 mm - and it does have the A setting.

Sony mount has an alpha sign on the aperture ring. Nikon says Ni on the right side and goes to f22, where 22 is in red. Canon says CA on the right side and goes to f22, but the numbers are white. The 4/3 mount has no aperture ring.
The Pentax version will say KR on the right and have an A next to 22 on the left side, in red. Just so you know if the photo you are looking at is the right version
Edit: Also, Ive searched this for a while now and I remember seeing a KR version photo, but can't find it right now to verify

Yep. I spotted the KR somewhere too but also can't find it again to check that aperture ring and mount..

I read all through that thread yesterday and somehow I missed it. Thanks for the find.

Well I guess that's confirmation enough. I can feel the dollars slipping off the end of my fingertips already. ha ha.

Cheers all.

OK then - here goes.
It arrived today, and I have to say it has the best mechanical build quality of all my lenses.

See, it does have the A setting (and aperture lever).

I'll put a pic or two here using the lens a little later.

(These photos were taken with a Panasonic FZ1 2MP camera and an LED torch.)

Looks great! Big, but very sturdy. In fact, looks better than my Samyang 14mm
