Samyang really tight fit

I just bought a Samyang 8mm f/3.5 for my K-50 and apparently it has a very tight fit when mounting it on the camera. all my other lenses are a breeze to rotate and lock into place but this one needs a bit of a push.
i cant hear it grinding against anything but im just worried long term if it will create any problems.
has anyone else experienced this and if so, is there anything that could be done of will it be fine?

I don't have this specific lens, but I do have a few lenses that are a tighter fit then the others and so far I never had any issues with anything.

My Bower 85 f1.4 was unbelievably tight when I got it. Was worried to start with but with a bit of use it has loosened to a more believable level.

I'm guessing their mount tolerances are not as tight as some other manufacturers. On the other hand the lens is a real winner. So happy with it, I would not want to send it back!

Did you buy it used? A tight mount could be evidence of a drop, which could mean misaligned elements resulting in poorer image quality. If so, contact the seller and ask for the history of the lens.

Thanks for the replies guys. No i bought the lens new actually. Maybe it will loosen a bit over time then

I think most new lenses have a tighter fit, which loosens up. The machining on a Samyang might also not be as precise as on a genuine Pentax.
Also, do your other lenses have a plastic mount? Plastic mounts are generally not tight and are easy to slide on.
If this problem doesn't go away after a week of usage or if the lens leaves scratches on the camera mount, then you have a problem.

The same with my Rokinon. I wouldn't worry about it too much mine has worn in about right.
It's standard industry practice to make one side of the mating surface softer than the other and in this case you can bet it's on the lens side.

When I first got my sigma 10-20 it was also super tight. Now is totally normal. I've had it for years and no problems.

My Rokinon 8/3.5 Fisheye (essentially the same as the Samyang) is also a pretty tight fit, though there is no grinding.
