Quantaray 35-70 AF

Does anyone know who made it? I can't find anything about it...

I'm not 100% sure but I seem to recall that Quantarary is made by Promaster.

Quantaray was the house brand for Ritz camera stores. Lenses sold under that brand were typically re-brands of Sigma lenses, sometimes Tamron. The "NF" in the lens name you've inquired about means it's probably a Nikon mount lens and won't work on Pentax. You'll want to look for PK or PK-A.

And to tie the last two posts together: Promaster lenses often were relabeled Tamrons I have two Quantarays that are Sigma-AF clones (28-90 macro and a slow 100-300), and a third on the way (28-70 f/2.8-4 PK-A, manual focus). All three were well under $50, and are very good for the price.

I have a Quantaray 70-300mm macro. It is a rebadged Tamron. I am not sure who made the 35-70

I have a 28mm and 135 mm Promaster from the 70's and they are not very good. I don't use them at all anymore. They were my fathers so i kept them. His M50 1.7 is a gem though.

Promaster will be hit or miss. Besides rebranding Sigma and Tamron, they also rebranded Tokina and Cosina (including excellent lenses like the Cosina 100mm f/3.5 Macro, which was also rebranded by Pentax as the FA 100mm F3.5 Macro). You have to be able to identify who actually made the Promaster lens to have an idea about how good it is.
