I think there was a thread about Mitakon lenses some time ago. It focused on 85mm and 135mm, and a user even bought them. The results were that wide open it is very soft, but stopped down it gets better. Fully manual lenses, though. I don't remember reading anything about the 35mm f1.9. I would also be interested how it compares to the DA 35mm f2.4 in terms of image quality at the same aperture. The difference in speed (f1.9 vs f2.4) and DoF scales might be worth the lack of auto-aperture and AF

Yep. Fully manual aperture (no auto-stopdown and stepless, I believe) and manual focus.

In regards to the 35/1.9. Are you sure? Mitakon recently released a 35/0.95 for Sony NEX and other MILC but I could not find anything for Pentax K.

Edit: Found the reference to the 35/1.9 online, but could not find any reviews or vendors offering it for sale outside of SE Asia. IIRC, Mitakon's strong points are nice finish and metal build coupled with low price. Optical quality...I have not read anything encouraging. :|

Never a good sign. Even Horusbennu has its champions and reviews.

Edit: There is a Mitakon review in the third-party database on this site for an older 24/2.8.
