Aquadome - I saw that pic of your "middle shelf" and wow is all I can say about the number of lenses
I'd like to see some of those dreamy photos, where are they located?
Originally posted by AquaDome The manual lenses are in a rotation at the moment. One lens, one K-body, one roll of film, about once a week. This has to continue until I have vetted all the K-bodies.
For general "around the house" stuff, I almost always use a manual prime on the K-50. Its just a toolbox-type of camera.
When I am setting up shots with the Mamiya, the K-50 is next to it with equivalent focal length, acting as light meter and digital preview, since the Mamiya is a TLR.
The "Rubik's Cube" lenses are getting more use recently. These are the do-it-all, 20-ish to 80-ish manual zooms with Macro, usually three or for movable bands with a slide, locking buttons, etc. You twist it one way for wide, the other way for long, then push a button and pull out the tube and twist it back the other way and its a macro... They each weigh about a kilo. All that glass gives a dreamy look on digital, for about $10 each. I have about a dozen.
As days go by, the pile gets more and more separated between what will stay and what will be released, but I feel every lens I meet should get a fair chance to impress me.
