So I started doing my annual year end purge and decided to count up how many lenses I have on my shelves. So after a year I have purchased over 39 lenses in 1 year! I still have 21 of them. I think I'm over my LBA as I think I'd like to sell some more of my lenses but I've enjoyed shooting with all of them to date.
How many do all of you have and do you think I'm crazy to have as many lenses as I do
I like having at least one lens for each camera body, both film and digital, and I prefer manual focus primes. I like having enough zooms to cover the range from close, wide-angle (18 or 28mm) to very long tele (500mm- ish). So in K-mount manual focus I have 2x 35-70mm, an 80-200mm and a 75-300mm, and primes (28mm, 2x 35mm, 6x 50mm, 3x 85mm and 2x 135mm). I use the 35-70mm and the 75-300mm the most on my digital bodies. I have an 18-55 af kit lens that's usually found on my red K-r (used mostly for color photography); my black K-r is set up for BW images and manual focus (modified with a split circle focusing screen), currently it's sporting a 50mm f1.8 SMC.
I have other lenses in other types of mounts (e.g., Minolta MC/MD, Konica AR, Nikon N, Canon FD) for my film cameras and EOS for my Canon EOS film and digital bodies.
All told, probably 50 lenses, but they cover a half-dozen different mount types.
