I cannot say for the U.S. but there is a camera club in toronto that holds 3 or 4 meets annually usually on a schedule like last Sunday in September, November, march, may if memory serves me correctly. The meets are/were posted under photographic equipment for sale in the toronto star

At last count, I had 542 lenses in my collection. Of these, 349 lenses are in Pentax M37, M39, and K mounts. Of course, some are duplicates mounted on the Pentax cameras in my collection which are on display. I must have about 50 "normal" lenses (43-58mm)...

The perils of being a collector!

jamesk8752 - I think I can say with certainty that you are now "The King of Lenses Count" for at least this thread that is. Collector, where do you store all of them and how? I definitely think you should post a photo of your collection for all of us to see. That would be quite the photo.

I'd be interested in seeing what the Pentaxian lenses counts will be same time next year after our full frame camera comes out. Pentax will make a killing on the 3 amigos being sold in record numbers for one year I'm assuming compared to the past 5 years! Any guesses on how many lenses people will buy to get ready for FF?

New camera, time for a new family photo.

Not shown: The three or four junk lenses I don't use and never have, my AWOL Pentax-M 50mm f/2, and the F35-70 used to take the shot.

EDIT: And to get an idea of just how gigantic my new Samyang/Bower 35mm is, that it in the back next to the retracted Sigma 70-300mm. Its almost the same size!

I've recently sold off a few lenses, but they've been relatively high-value ones which I have covered by similar lenses which are just as good or better for my purposes. The lower-value stuff, which is what takes up the space, and not just because of numbers but because they're bigger (old zooms), tend to stay because they're hardly worth selling.

This means that I've made some money back on lenses recently even though the number I have and the space they occupy has barely changed. Unfortunately, my wife's impression of how much gear I have is based on sheer numbers and space.

I have 21 lenses.

So I started doing my annual year end purge and decided to count up how many lenses I have on my shelves. So after a year I have purchased over 39 lenses in 1 year! I still have 21 of them. I think I'm over my LBA as I think I'd like to sell some more of my lenses but I've enjoyed shooting with all of them to date.

How many do all of you have and do you think I'm crazy to have as many lenses as I do
I like having at least one lens for each camera body, both film and digital, and I prefer manual focus primes. I like having enough zooms to cover the range from close, wide-angle (18 or 28mm) to very long tele (500mm- ish). So in K-mount manual focus I have 2x 35-70mm, an 80-200mm and a 75-300mm, and primes (28mm, 2x 35mm, 6x 50mm, 3x 85mm and 2x 135mm). I use the 35-70mm and the 75-300mm the most on my digital bodies. I have an 18-55 af kit lens that's usually found on my red K-r (used mostly for color photography); my black K-r is set up for BW images and manual focus (modified with a split circle focusing screen), currently it's sporting a 50mm f1.8 SMC.

I have other lenses in other types of mounts (e.g., Minolta MC/MD, Konica AR, Nikon N, Canon FD) for my film cameras and EOS for my Canon EOS film and digital bodies.

All told, probably 50 lenses, but they cover a half-dozen different mount types.

17 in total:

1x Leica M mount
4x Fuji-X Mount
2x X-Pan Mount
10x Pentax K-Mount
A year on since I've last posted in this thread, I've slimmed down the total number of lenses I have down by one and changed the composition of what I have.

Now 16 in total, only 2 of which are zooms:

5x Leica M mount
7x Fuji-X mount
2x X-Pan mount
2x Pentax K mount

I firmly believe that the K-3 I got last year has put a stop to my lens acquisitions. Really. Except for a CZ 50mm Planar that Jean tricked me into buying. ("Tricked" as in "put up for sale".)

And a couple more that are in the mail now. Don't know quite how that happened...

But, really, my lens buying days are over!
