In the next few years, I can see myself adding the Sigma 18-35 if it ever get's released. I'd like to fill in for fast wide primes for indoor kid photos. I might dump the Pentax 50 A at some point cause I got the DA due to AF and I don't need 3 lenses that cover a 10mm span. It's hard to justify selling it on ebay or something for like 60 bucks considering that doesn't put a dent in getting anything new.

FA 43.................First FA Limited lens purchased mainly because it's the cheapest of the 3 Amigos. Best lens in my collection. $584 New from Adorama
DA*50-135.........First DA* lens purchase. Probably one of the sharpest zooms Pentax makes. $625 Used on Ebay
DA 21.................First DA Limited lens purchase. Needed a wide angle lens and fantastic for starbursts. $325 Used on Ebay. Spent another $123 at C.R.I.S. for alignment. Perfect now.

Tokina AT-X F4 100-300 First long zoom lens. Although not regarded as premium glass this takes one hellava Sharp picture at 300mm. $235 used on the marketplace here.

I'll probably sell my other 3 lenses.(A 28 F2.8, DA 18-55II, F35-70macro). I'm looking at purchasing the FA 31 sometime this year.

I got my new DA 21 Ltd at B&H last week for $489.

The Tamron 18-250 usually lives with my K-r and goes with it when I lend it to someone.
I also have two old teleconverters and one AF with contacts but haven't found them at all useful and converted the two non AF ones into extension tubes.

I think a general rule applies: keep the one's you use on at least a semi-regular basis.

My corollary to this: when there's a tie between similar lenses sell the expensive one that way you can afford more lenses!

I don't have an ex-wife, I have a late husband. But he never stopped me buying lenses or anything photography related, in fact he bought my enlarger and my K1000 for me.

Pop - Fuji does have nice rendering, one of my friends loves his x-pro.

17 in total:

1x Leica M mount
4x Fuji-X Mount
2x X-Pan Mount
10x Pentax K-Mount.

Since I barely touch my pentax gear, I don't think that will grow any more, but I do have plans to add to my Fuji-X mount collection.

I wouldn't say "such a difference" but everyone who has tested both agree that the DA40 is definitely faster.

I really, really wish that if/when Pentax update the FA limiteds, they make them WR, add quickshift and DC AF for faster focusing. Then I will replace my DA40 with a 43.


I find that it's the perfect range for a walkaround, it's reasonably fast, reliable, and close focusing is really helpful.

Good to know, especially if I get tired of using my FA43 and DA15
