My newest lens is an FA20. I haven't put it into its paces yet, but I like what I have been seeing while shooting around the house.

A few weeks ago, I was planning to dispose my M50/4 (so I'd feel less guilty of my stash). Then I made the mistake of mounting it into my Q7, and boom! I'm now thinking of when to use that sharp, albeit slow, equivalent 250+ mm!

I've got 6 lenses for the time being and don't foresee any additions in the near future:

3 primes:

SMC Pentax-M 28mm f/2.8
Asahi Pentax Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4 m42 7-element radioactive
Asahi Pentax Super Takumar 200mm f/4 m42

3 zooms:

Kit DA-L 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 AL WR
FA 28-105 f/4-5.6 (IF)
Sigma 75-300mm f/4-5.6 DL Macro

Zooms:
Sigma 18-55mm f4-5.6, AF; came as a kit lens on my *ist-DL.
Sigma 70-210mm f4-5.6, Pentax A-mount, MF; not sure where I picked that one up.

Pentax DA 18-250mm f3.5-6.3 superzoom.

Vivitar 80-200mm f4; jammed at maximum aperture for some reason which I and my screwdriver set intend to discover soon. Supposedly a "macro" lens at its longest zoom. Given the constant maximum aperture, it would be nice if I could repair this, given that it's a stop faster than the Sigma at the long end.

Primes:
Vivitar 28mm f2,8 MF and equivalent to a K or M mount in functionality.
Pentax FA 28mm f2.8 (bought to supplement the MF when intended subjects are small and fast-moving).
Pentax DA 35mm/f2.8 Limited Macro
Pentax DA 40mm/f2.8 Limited Pancake (bought at the same time as the superzoom above).
Pentax DA 50mm/f1.8 (bought because in autofocus wide-aperture bang-for-the-buck terms, I couldn't turn it down at the advertised price; the extra wide-aperture reach to 1.4 wasn't worth paying twice the price).
Pentax-A 50mm/f2.0 (this one was gifted to me after I bought the 50mm plastic fantastic, and since it's both slower and lacking in AF, it's not going to get much use on a DSLR).
Pentax D-FA 100mm WR Macro.
Pentax FA 135mm/f2.8 (bought because the Samigon simply isn't up to scratch IQ-wise).

Samigon M42 135mm/f2.8 (bought because I wanted at least one M42 lens in my collection, and this was long and wide).

Vivitar MF 3x teleconverter.

At one stage I owned a Pentax-A 50mm f/1.7, but I have no idea where it's gone.

I'm not really sure where I go to from here. My zoom needs are completely covered, and I don't feel the need for a prime longer or indeed wider than what I already have. I've a lingering regret over a couple of prime lenses I should have bought but didn't, and if I ever see them again I intend to get them. If I get any more 50mm lenses they should either be a Pentax-A f1.2 or a fast Takumar to differentiate them from what I've already got. We shall see what Ricoh serves up in between now and my next planned lens-buying expedition (which I am fighting hard to put off until March next year).

Probably for the same reason anyone has more than one, shrug. They came with cameras and I haven't sold them as yet. The WR model I will probably keep though I don't really need it now that I have the 18-135WR. The other two I would sell but so far there's been little interest when I've tried. The list is for insurance purposes actually. I keep it all the time. I just add or subtract as I need to. I edited out the bodies because they were irrelevant to the topic at hand. Otherwise it would have been twice as long.

They're all stored in Ammo 50 boxes and/or o-sealed food containers, dry boxes etc with desiccant. I wish I could afford a proper lens cabinet for them all but alas a 5K case is beyond my finances at the moment. This is a lot of years collecting lenses though and most of it was done via thrift or used. I don't buy lenses new very often. I think there are maybe three in the whole collection that were. It's not as much money invested as you might think. I've got far more $5, $10 lenses than I do $150 lenses.

My 18-135WR I think is the most expensive lens I've ever gotten and even that was in a used kit with my K5II and the DA 50. I think it only cost me around $150-200 if I split it up. I'd been eying one but at $299 and up used at the time it was a bit out of my budget range. It wasn't till I saw that whole kit going for a song that I deemed it worth it. I probably wouldn't have ever gone there if it hadn't come with the DA 50 and the K5II but that kit price was just too sweet and it was the holidays so I splurged and broke out the plastic. The guy that sold that kit was playing Santa because he practically gave it away....

I'm a working photographer though so at least I've got some excuse for having tons of lenses and more than a few bodies. If I was just a hobbyist I'd feel a bit guilty probably, lol, but they do see action quite a bit, most of them. Note, I have probably given away almost as much equipment as I own. I run an impromptu photography class for kids and I often will donate extra gear that I come across to my local community center and community college for their classes so students who cannot easily afford a decent kit can have one to learn with. These days most of them are not wanting film bodies as much because the schools here have gone digital but lenses of any kind are always welcome...
